Fifth of a series. Third of five albums for Day 3.
After the generous lunch at Macau Fisherman's Wharf, next stop was the
Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral (which I think is one of the most iconic, classical sites in Macau). Only the facade of the church remains, while the ruined pillars and walls are enclosed in thick glasses. Only Linel and I braved to climb the wet stairs leading the "second" floor of the facade of the ruins. While I was climbing down, I accidentally slipped (stupid rain) which opened a wound to my left middle finger and didn't stop bleeding all throughout the tour. boo. :(
At the other end of the ruins (or the altar side), there's a crypt/museum downstairs which plays Gregorian sounds in the background. Really spooky and creepy if you ask me. The museum features relics from the 1500s to the 1700s relating to Christian faith. There's even a bone by a priest which has been preserved. O_o.
Always a fan of classical structures. Another one visited, yay.
